I met Ken Hayes, Founder and Presedent of
Aqua Survey, Inc. in Egypt in 2001 during the discovery and excavation of the lost city of Herakleion. Being the only American on Franck Goddio's team, I was assigned to wrangle a boat for Ken and Jim Nichols as they took core samples of the Nile River Delta so that Dr Jean Daniel Stanley of the Smithsonian could try to figure out why it sank. We got along great from the start, and within a few days Ken asked if I would be able to participate in some of ASI's exciting work in the future. With just a brief overview of the projects ASI was involved in the answer was an easy one. You bet I would.
Ken likes to refer to ASI as "A scientific company that finds things that shouldn't be there, mostly in the
water." Since 2001 I have continued to work for ASI on all maner of scientific projects, as research vessel captain, scientific diver, field technician , or cameraman. I cant wait to see what we get involved in next.
