This a few months ago ( Spring 2014) we were visited by a BBC film crew with presenter Dr Lucy Blue, who wanted to get a closer look at the work of Underwater Archaeologist Franck Goddio on the sunken Egyptian city of Heracleion. As part of the team, I'm always excited when we get a chance to share our discoveries with the public. "Swallowed by the Sea: Ancient Egypt's Greatest Lost City" a BBC Documentary 2014just aired and is now available on youtube.

Eric, This is an utterly fascinating discovery you are involved in! I love Dr. Lucy Blue. She is the female archaeologist equivalent of David Attenborough. She is everywhere commenting knowledgeably about everything. The stele find is especially impressive. Love the more personal objects like the small horse, the gold earrings, the statue. Glad to see graffiti - a great reminder of the human need to mark one's place in time and space. I saw similar etched in frescoes in Pompeii, inscribed in the stone of the Pont du Gard, even scrawled over in spray paint on Detroit's abandoned Packard Plant. Hi Kelly, Glad you liked the film. I t might be the best documentary to date on the work of team Franck Goddio. Lucy blue and crew were a pleasure to work with as well, and I hope we see more of them on site in the future, She has worked extensively in Egypt, including on the shores of Lake Mariotis, so I look forward to following her projects as well.
