Here is some underwater video footage of some of the Archaeological sites in Egypt, hosted by the delightful Italian Art News reporter Lavinia Filippi after her visit on site to promote the opening of the exhibition in Turin in 2009

Hey David, I get the question about the languages we speak on board ship often, and wrote a post about it in October, 2011.

I attended AIA (Archaeological Institute of America) annual meeting for 3 days in Philadelphia last week. I attended mostly Roman and Etruscan lectures. But I did attend one of the Egyptian lectures related to your work! It was given by Emma Libonati of Oxford University. ENTITLED: Colossal Statuary Group from the Underwater Excavations at Herakleion! Franck was mentioned of course. I met Emma after her talk, and asked her if she knows you. She said no.

Did you participate in the work at Herakleion? I don't yet understand the geographical and (ancient) political relationships between Alexandria and Herakleion, but I hope to learn more soon.

Okay I'm now finally in the process of reading the description of your 2011 field work in egypt. This is on the frankk goddiosociety (fgs) website of course. Your name is listed among the teammembers for 2011. But Emma's name does not appear on that list. I guess she was not there. But I do know that she is nearing completion of her doctoral thesis regarding the herakleion colossi. The fgs website mentions two doctoral students from oxford but it does not give their names. Lots and lots to read...

Hey David, I am jealous that you got to attend the AIA meeting in Philadelphia. I have not yet met Emma, but other colleagues from the excavations were there. Very Exciting.

I did not find Emma Libonati in academia.edu. But I did locate her by googling the words "emma libonati oxford". I have a lot to catch up on, and have only just begun to scratch the surface of these egyptian projects.
