Recently I was invited to join the Advisory Board of The Lifeboat Foundation, an organization dedicated to safeguarding humanity from Existential Threats, such as Asteroid Impact and Rogue Technology.
The invitation was precipitated by some posts I made in a forum alongside such luminaries as Oceanographer Dr. Silvia Earle. The discussion was NOT about immenent Doom from Little Green Men, but about Ocean Acidification and existing and emergent technologies that could help remidiate these problems. (Apparently I applied spell-checking technology in those posts more successfully than I have here)
Especially exciting is the opportunity to discuss strategies for human exploration and habitation off the earth, with really smart people, and hopefully include such concepts in the design of the Floating Living Island Project.
