Rick Asked if we have any idea how big Heracleion was before it was swallowed by the sea. I can tell you it seems huge when you try to swim, or walk along the bottom from one side to the other, you might use all the air in your tanks for the trip.
But we do have a pretty good idea where it starts and stops, based on years of surveying using the most advanced technology for geophysical survey, plus site characterization, and also many many archaeological excavations. We are always finding new information, but all in all the site is about a half a square kilometer.
